While on a recent trip, we played a game of answering questions, and one question that was asked, was what would you like to do that you cannot do right now. For the most part the answers were like to have some superhuman ability, and when it came to my turn to answer I said that I wanted to see colors. And the people in the car seemed to be a little perplexed about my answer. And the reason I choose this ability is because I want to know what it is like to see the colors of the world as other people do.
My current condition is so that the colors Red, Green and Brown have a tendency to mix together. And the colors Blue and Violet/Purple also will get mixed up. We was just arriving in Chicago when this question was asked and at the time the sun was setting to our left hand side, and I said that I would love to be able to see the exact same sunset as they were seeing at this moment. That would be the thing I would want to do right now that I could not...
I find it rather interesting that people see the world differently in general. Qualia, is a term used to describe a persons interactions with experiences. And these Qualia experiences are different for everyone in general. Even a person who witnesses the same event as someone else technically has a different Qualia than the other person, but when it comes to the shades of the colors themselves it is the same, just the perspective is different.
Here is a link to a color blind tester, while it is a website and such, dont take it to seriously, your eye doctor is still your best resource for accurate testing. HERE
Well even for you normal people, this article HERE shows how the color wheel actually works. It is interesting and really informational.
"Also it’s not as simple as saying “any three colors can produce all the others” because that’s clearly not true (by experiment). And it’s not as simple as saying “any three colors will do, they just have to be equally spaced around the color wheel,” because yellow is common to both the painter’s and printer’s wheel, yet the other two primaries differ completely (red and blue are primary in the painter’s wheel but secondary in the printer’s wheel.)"
